Ok so I'm new to this I'll admit, but I do research daily to try and educate myself. I recently got a master testing kit and found that my ammonia levels are way too high! At the time of acquiring the little one I knew nothing of these issues, but I greatly need to take the ammonia down now! Would Carbon make a difference? Please help!

I assume you didn't cycle your tank before you got your axie?

You need to do a large water change to get rid of some of the ammonia, and regular daily water changes to keep the levels down.

You need to read up on fish-in cycling, and keep an eye on the water quality.
