Seeking help! My teenage son’s axolotl, who is his pride and joy, somehow escaped through a tiny opening in the lid of his tank last night (in the night). We found him in a pool of blood this morning on the floor. We immediately put him back in the tank and he’s moving but slightly sideways. When we put him back in the tank blood came out. There are no outward visible injuries so the damage must be internal. Are there any supportive measures we can take to try to help him survive??? Please help this desperate mom!!!!!

axolotls are amazing creatures with amazing healing and recovery abilities, but it is best to see a vet who can prod and poke to see if there is any serious damage and prescribe any medications if required. check your water parameters just in case there was a reason for jumping out (they jump out for no reason at all but better to be safe then sorry). look up and start using holtfreters solution or a modified version to help ward of infection and fungus (details at Axolotls - Requirements & Water Conditions in Captivity), also try to get some almond/catappa leaves as they are anti bacterial and soothing.
as I said though ideally he needs to be examined for any internal injuries.
