Hey everyone,
This is my second time owning axolotls, but last time I did not freak out as much as I'm doing with this girl.

So my questions are.
1. Is it ok for my girl to swim around alot?
2. My water has become milky after I changed it today half tap half bottle.
3. Is it ok if she hardly eats her frozen cube things and only poop once a day?
4. Is it ok for her to suck up a bit of sand when she eats?
5. How often do they yawn
6. Her standing on her toes normal?

She is 10-12cm long, only had her for 3days. She is in a second hand tank but nothing died in it. New filter with live plants and black sand on her tank. And white massive pebbles for a feeding spot, tank is 30cm wide and 60cm long. Water temp sits at around 18-20.

1. Is it ok for my girl to swim around alot? yes
2. My water has become milky after I changed it today half tap half bottle. get quilt batting and use a half bottle with a power head and it will clear up
3. Is it ok if she hardly eats her frozen cube things and only poop once a day? yes
4. Is it ok for her to suck up a bit of sand when she eats? if it is fine grain. cant help it unless bare bottom.
5. How often do they yawn depends on the axi.
6. Her standing on her toes normal? sure why not?

as long the water permas/temp and her gills are looking fluffy. then your fine. the gills will turn white when there isnt much blood flow. when you feed it will see the change

Activity level depends a lot on the individual. My Gilbert is very active for an axolotl, much more than his sisters. Maybe you just have an active one!

Just be sure to scoop up extra food, a lot of extra nutrients in the water can lead to foggy water or bacterial blooms.
