i need advice on how to convince my parents to let me buy some axies. brainstorm ideas to help me please
happy.gif

reasons they object:
when i was much younger i had a few mice and i over fed them
uhoh.gif
so they had to be put down(a famous vet said they were the fattest mice he had ever seen)

i get a bit lazy when walking my dog

my rabbit mysteriously died a last year

what i am doing to prove myself:
i have taken the dog on a hour long walk every day for the past month (used to just be around the block.

washing the dog once every 2 weeks (instead of once every month)

teaching dog tricks

taking care of friends fish

( please suggest more)

Axie isnt for you then they're alot of work. I sujest goldfish ;)

just don't throw poor mr goldfish in one of those tiny bowls. Gold fish get HUGE. seriously tho.

If you want an axolotl that bad, either prove to your parents that you are responsible and dedicated or wait til you moveout of the house. Plus, an axolotl can live longer than a pet dog.

nods - axolotl are a lot of hard work.
They need perfect water qualities, can be picky to feed, and if not kept right can get really ill, very fast.

I've worked with lots of aquatic animals now, and I have to say, axies are one of the most difficult.
I have dozens of fish, several different species, newts, snails, all sorts.

i think if your willing to put in the hard yards and read heaps and heaps you could successfully take care of the best animal in the world-axolotls

so, are you willing?

I wouldn't recomend you get an axolotl as other people have said they are alot of hard work and sometimes not all that interesting ( especially if they are having a lazy day or week! he he )
Maybe wait a little while, get some other aquatic animals that are easier to keep, increase your knowledge of aquariums and such, then your parents shouldn't mind at all!

When I was younger I too didnt have the best track record with keeping pets (that's changed now! he he), just keep at it and try to keep pets that you can give enough time and care to, making sure they have a happy healthy life.

P.s - If you decide in the end to get an axolotl, I would spend as much time on here and www.axolotl.org as you can. Reading and preparing yourself, all the best!

"just don't throw poor mr goldfish in one of those tiny bowls. Gold fish get HUGE." lol, I wish someone told me that when I used to have goldfish my favourite one "mobby" (named after mobby dick) ended up growing massive so I had to move him into a pond that I had in my backyard.
