Hello. I have a three and a half year old albino axolotl that I love dearly. I am worried about him because, last night, he refused his food and was swimming around his tank frantically. He at first put the food in his mouth, but then he would spit it out. After he spit it out, he started to frantically dart around his tank, running into walls as he went. I also noticed him jumping out of the water, which he does not normally do. I also noticed that his gills were more pale than usual, even when he was moving around. He lives alone in a 20 gallon long aquarium that has a canister filter. The flow is a little high, but I am working on it and there are places he can go to avoid it. I have also not seen his poop for a while, but I had originally dismissed this as him hiding it and it getting sucked up in the filter. I am now more worried that this could be a parasite, because he is a little bit underweight, although I have been working on it. I feed him 2-3 red wrigglers per day, and he has never had a problem with the bitter taste. I am working on getting some water tests, but I have COVID-19 so I have to purchase everything online and it takes a couple days to ship. I don’t think this has anything to do with it, but there was a cold front yesterday and I had my window open, so his tank temperature went down a bit, but it is still in the 60-70 degree range. I also do ~30% - 40% water changes weekly, but I miss one or two occasionally . Thank you all very much.

UPDATE: he still will not eat worms. I fixed the flow problem, I tried pellets, I have done water changes, nothing. He is eating some thawed bloodworms, but I haven’t been able to get him to eat anything else. I am very worried about him. I am over Covid, so I can go to stores and everything. Please, someone help.
