:(she got her axie about 3 or 4 weeks ago when she got it itonly had like little stumpy gills with no furry stuff its pretty thin and lean and tonight she found it going crazy swimming to the surface of the water and its head was pretty much out of the water its been in the tank with 3 other axolotls and they all seem to be fine i have seperated him and put him in his own tank but i dont know what else to do can someone please help my sister

They can pop their heads out of the water at times to take gulps of air or it may just be a little more active than the others so there may be no need to worry but if you are concerned there are things to look out for.
Are all the other axolotls the same size? are they adults? are they perhaps bullying it and nipping it? Did you check the water levels for nitrite/nitrate/ammonia/ph and temperature because it may be a little stressed if they arent right. The other axolotls may just be able to cope a little better if they appear to be ok? For it being thin are the other axolotls beating it to the food? Sorry for all the questions but just a thought, have you by any chance changed some of the water and not dechlorinated it? that could possibly be irrating it?

Also, how big is the tank it was sharing?

Did she get all the axolotls at the same time or did she just introduce this one at the time she got it?

I agree with Julie, regardless of if the other 3 appear to be okay, you should get the water tested for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate.
