Hi, i would like to ask for some help and recommendation on what should i do to help my axolotl.
recently 1 of my axolotl started to kick his gills with his hind leg and stopped eating and he had a hard time taking in air from the surface. . the last thing he ate is 2 medium sized earthworms, and it has been 4-5 days ago, usually i fed him every 2 days.
today i offer him an earthworm, and he just nudge it but wont open his mouth. im worried because he's getting skinnier.

.

sorry for the bad quality video🙏🏻

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
