Help pls

I stupidly fed my axol a piece of sweetcorn 2 days ago. A friend has told me that humans don't digest sweetcorn.. my axol's tummy is bloated and it is unable to swim :< it walks but when it tried to swim it just jumps. I cant find anything about whether sweetcorn is actually bad for them and I have no idea what to do :< I dont know if it will digest it or possibly spit it out.. help anyone?

I have to ask...Why did you feed your axolotl sweetcorn? What else do you feed it?

Depending on the size of your axolotl and the quantity, it should come through. It will be able unlikely that your axolotl will be able to digest it.

I usually feed it dry or fresh prawns, wax warms or tuna :/ My friend said he feeds it vegetables and since i was out of fresh food i gave it one piece.. is there anything i can do to try get it out ?

I know you now know that it shouldn't be done, but I can't stress enough how dangerous feeding "human food" to certain animals not equipped to digest it. Not a caudate, but there was a case where a rabbit actually leapt onto the counter to lick the lid of an ice cream container. This led to painful bloating, constipation, and gas, and the only treatment option was to give it an enema. I'm sure that was not fun for either party. Keep your food to yourself!

Axolotls are not omnivores. You can try fridging to see if that speeds the passage.

In the future, stick to fresh earthworms, with the occasional fresh prawn or waxworm as a treat.
