My axolotl Wooper has had a fluffy-looking, white material on his gill. I didn't think it was anything, but its been getting worse, and today a large portion of the gill was white! Once I accidentally touched it and he went crazy, swimming all over the tank for a good 7 seconds before he calmed down. Another one in the tank (there are 3) got it about a week ago, but oddly it went awaqy on its own. The last has remained unaffcted. I have been doing some research on it recently, and is it Columnaris Condrococcus? Should I try dipping him in seawater for 10 minutes for 3 days, or get some sort of medicine, or maybe cutting it off? They are all one year old. I tried posting this somewhere else but nobody responded... please help, and thanks alot in advance!

White cotton-wool like material effecting the gills, feet, etc is usually fungus. Your best bet is to put the affected axolotls in seperate containers and fridge them. A guide the aid your fridging experience:

If you do not have space in your fridge for all containers, a cool, dimly lit room will be fine.
The next step is salt baths. A great guide to follow:

The next question is why is it affecting them? A common misconception is that fungus breeds throughout the tank and filter medium when it actual fact it occurs when an axolotls immunity is weakened by stress, so don't go tearing your tank apart and ruining your cycle :happy:
The most common causes of stress in axolotls are too high-a temperature, over-crowding of the tank, poor water quality, filter current and in some cases impaction. To follow, some questions for you:
1. What is your water temperature?
2. Have you checked your water quality and is it of a good standard?
3. Is there anything in your tank that could cause impaction? e.i; poor substrate.
4. How big is your tank?
5. Does your filter cause a strong outflow?
