Hello guys,

I have a very trivial question: What do you think is this ? Only thing I know about them, they are coming from Germany.
Thank you very much.

I would say it looks as a bright form of tylototriton verrucosus - they look more like tylototriton shanjing with that bright colour but something tells me they are verrucosus. I think I feel this way because of their creamy colour, thir skin is not that granular and the dorsal line of "spots" - I am sure there is a "fine" name but I have forgot - arent as prominent as I have seen on shanjing before. Shouldnt listen to me though - I am unreliable

They look nice anyhow!

Hi Juraj,
the animals belong to the verrucosus-complex. There are more pictures of these animals on this forum (including larvae) if you search the other threads.

Haha, the old shanjing verrocosus dilemna. Do u have em? If u do, are they mainly aquatic or terrestrial? Knowledge of their behaviour shd help a bit.

It is not much of a dilemma Sam, they are verrucosus - I was pretty sure and Ralf knows what he is talking about.

Thanks guys,
I`ve got 3,3 of them. At the beginning I`ll offer them a great choice between land and water.

Hrmmm... Icic, wasn't undermining Ralf's and your experience Jesper. I realized that it is very hard to differentiate certain individuals of verrocosus from shanjings. Personally, i still can't tell cuz i mainly see these animals on net pics.

When it comes to me - you cant undermine what is not there

In Ralf we trust though, right Ralf?

Well guys, thank you very much for having such confidence in my posts. Hope I deserve it.

Actually, I don't feel undermined at all. Samuel stated an important point there. The verrucosus systematics is still a mess and different forms appear on the market. Some of them even displaying similar traits as shanjing. And yes Jesper, you are also right in that the depicted animals are most probably a type of verrucosus as there have already been some posts on these animals by different forum members.
