Hello again!

So, I went to the pet shop to get some worms and I saw they had 2 axolotls in there.. of course I wouldn’t get them but I saw a female axolotls leg bitten off, starving, half of the gills torn off and basically- sick! I couldn’t help but feel bad and I’m thinking about trying to help her. I would like so tips on how to make the chances of her surviving up.. I thought about putting her in cattaba-cabatta extract or something like that- I don’t remember.. and I have Enro-k wich i thought might help.

Just a reminder:
She came from the same litter as the axolotls I have right now and she’s not even HALF as big as mine are. Should I risk it or is it too late to save her?

Any tips would help!

provided water chemistry and parameters are good as well as a balanced diet there is no reason as to her not making a full recovery.
due to size she would have to be kept separate from your axolotls until her size is around equal to them, otherwise she could end up being hunted.
enro-k (Enrofloxacin) will help if she has an infection etc.. I don't know what cattaba-cabatta is (do you mean catappa?)

almond/catappa leaves are known for being beneficial and soothing, the tannins produced colour/darken the water helping animals that tend to be light sensitive.
when catappa extract is used in a tank the ph needs to be monitored as the tannins are a mildly acidic.

Poor babies!! Atleast their gills are fluffy and look healthy, but the top one in the second image has them slightly pointed forward which indicates stress. There is nothing stopping them from making a full recovery.
Did you get to take them home? Would love to have an update on the babies!

Yes! I actually had the 2 chunky ones before (for like 8 months now) and I decided to try and save the axolotl! Though, it’s been great until now.. she was feeling too energetic and jumped out of the aquarium. But thanks for checking the other girls gills! I separated her from her sibling hoping it would help :)
