Hi everyone.

I have newts in a 75g tank and have stalked this website to gather information as I raise them in my tank. Currently I have four eastern newts in the tank with an albino bristlenose pleco, two cory catfish, and two german blue rams. Everyone gets along and there hasn't been any fighting or stress as far as I can tell. No nipping from fish either... more so the newts to the fish, lol.

I decided to join because my female newts are gravid and have laid a handful of eggs. So I figured I would join just in case the eggs start having problems or I have questions that are unanswered here.

Speaking of questions, my two newts appear gravid and there has been eggs but I believe I have only gathered 7 eggs so far. She/They decided to lay them in a few small patches of moss that sunk to the bottom that were placed on the land I set up for them at the upper part of the aquarium. After seeing the eggs in the moss I placed a few more patches hoping they would continue to lay but they havent wanted to. Should I just wait or do I need to find something else they'd like to utilize like the plastic strips that I've heard of or an actual live plant?

Welcome, and congrats! You have any pictures to share? An eastern was my first newt when I was a kid. I have a trio of alpines now.

Sorry, can't help you with the breeding questions. Good luck!

I do have pictures I will post once I'm on my laptop later today. And now I have German blue eggs... I guess I'm glad everyone feels happy enough to be laying eggs lol
