Hi everyone. My name is genevieve and I want to learn about axolothl. I have 2 fish tank(30 gallon each) waiting for some life:)

I already have a 75 gallon of cichlid, one 15 gallon of tropical fish and 2 nursery tank for my cichlid fry. I love fish tank and I was looking for something different.

I really want to learn before I buy any animal. Just want to be sure I have an adequate habitat for them.

I am sure I will find a lot of answer here thank you for your help:)

    with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
