Hello,

My name is El and my first ever axolotl is Inca. She is a lovely natural golden colour, approx 15 cm in length and quite fat. She and she is settling into the tank pretty well I think.

I have wanted an axolotl since I was eight years old and I finally got one after umming an ahhing for a very long time. I've had fish before, but I knew it was going to be a very BIG change, and so it has been!

I hope that the next fifteen years+ are full of happiness, health and good old fashioned swimming :)

El

Hi El and Inca. I also hope you have happy 15+ years together. And welcome :)

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
