Hi there I have been researching Axolotls as I am looking into getting one. I have found several sites that have been extremely useful and am learning alot about how to maintain and control the correct environment for them to live in. I have been reading up on their biology as well so that I know plenty about the species before rushing out and getting one. I was wondering though, throughout all the sites I have researched I have not seen anythin to tell you their average life span!

Please could someone advise me of this as I am curious.

Thank you :)

With good care, 15 years isn't unheard of.

..

Thank you very much :)

I find them fascinating creatures and there is an aquarium shop near us who i discovered have adults as well as infants, a couple of them albino whites and the rest are black. I would love to rehome one of them and am making sure i read up on it all before comitting to it. But i think that now I understand more bout PH levels and dierty needs and so on I will definately go for it :)

Thanks again and if I have any more questions I will ask :)

We're always here.

Also, there's a 'search' function on the forum, which can come in handy.

And if you haven't yet, www.axolotl.org is the place to go with general questions:)
