Hello all! I have been using the axolotl portion of this website for awhile, but I am getting back into frogs, so I thought I'd introduce myself here!
I currently have one nine year old White's Tree Frog named Mr. Hopper. My mom and I are wanting a few more. Would it be safe to add in new frogs, or would they fight? He has been alone for almost 6 years, but he had a buddy before that.
Also, if you have any tips for tank setup, that'd be great! :)

Hi Hanna
Have you checked out the Frog Forum ?
It's run by the same dedicated individuals that run this site (thanks ;))
Hope you find this usefull

Woo! No, I hadn't! Thanks! :) Do you have frogs?

At the moment I have a 15 gallon (uk) 24x12x12" tank with a few ghost shrimp and live plants and bogwood. It's been cycling away for a good while now, and the water readings are fine
So, to answer your question......no, I don't keep frogs......but if you ask me this coming weekend......I'm sure I'll post some pictures of the two albino Xenopus laevis that I want to introduce
I realise the ghost shrimp will soon become frog-food, and that I need to get on with setting up the 3 foot tank for them to eventually move into. With this tank I want to experiment with a 12v DC electric set-up. I have 3 solar (PV) panels outside that would feed a 12v battery. The battery would run the smallest filter/pump that I could get away with, and LED lights which can be set to either daylight or moonlight colours (with a timer and a dimmer, also). Live plants won't thrive on this but the frogs will appreciate the low level lighting, I hope!

The other 3ft tank is reserved for axolotls.......I'm going to have to bear in mind the chytrid fungus that these ACF sometimes carry and not cross-contaminate.....mind you, I never use the same plastic syphon tubes that I use to change aquarium water with the tubes I use for my home-brew :D

Glad you found the frog forum useful and best of luck with your new little chaps!

All the best Hanna  , Ken ;)

Hannah... I'm no pro... but I have kept Green Tree Frogs (Hyla cinerea), Red Eyed Tree Frogs (Agalychnis callidryas) , Chacoan Waxy Monkey Frogs (Phyllomedusa sauvagei), and White's or "Dumpy" Tree Frogs (blue Phase Litoria caerulea {I Think}).
I may have just been lucky... but I've never noticed any territorial problems at all. You will have to observe quarantine procedures and make sure that all animals are fed equally. Less aggressive animals will be edged out for food.
