This is my first post on Caudata although I have been making use of the forums for quite awhile. I have 5 axies and hope to breed soon but am learning all I can. I just want to say that I am so thrilled to have found such an abundance of information and an invaluable source of help. I had axies when I was little but didn't know much about them. The ones I have today are much luckier.

Welcome to the group! It is a big aquatic world. There are lots of interesting animals that live in similar conditions. If you breed axolotls have a plan. Taking care of hundreds of babies is overwhelming!

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
