At the moment, for my axolotl, I use a hollowed-out log thing which is fine, but algae gets in the crevices and it's quite old and tatty now, so does anyone have any suggestions for a new hide/cover/shelter?

I use red terracotta pots with entrances chipped out of them.

They love them!

Just remember to smooth the edges if you use terracotta pots.

Large PVC pipe is also something I've seen used.

I personally have a few big 'rock' hides in my tank from the pet store (that are really plastic - not painted, I've never had any luck with painted aquarium ornaments - they flake or bubble)

I put pvc pipes in my tank and they still rather all lotl stack under one of those " rocks" you speak of :p since i have a tank divider and only one rock, my two females hate me. I will have to buy a second one

i use fake plants and they just hide under the leaves
burrito floats a lot anyway and isnt scared of me

Anything big enough for them to hide under or in will do as long as it's aquarium safe. I have a polystone log, terracotta pots, a slate propped up between ornaments, a little tunnel and a fake skull.

Thanks for all the ideas
