I have a high PH of around 8.2ish (might be a little higher). My TDS is around 315. I heard that Axolotls prefer a ph of around 7.6. I tried cutting my well water with RO but that just lowered my TDS significantly and my ph didn’t really lower. I ordered some Indian Almond Leaves. Should I try to lower ph or should I just leave it. I feel like it would be stressful to keep the ph stable with the tannins and with water changes every week. The leaves also decompose pretty quickly so the ph would be changing constantly. What is everyone’s thoughts.

your ph is quite high and is at the limits for axolotls it isn't unheard of for axolotls to be quite happy at high ph.
peat bogwood driftwood almond/catappa leaves all release acid tanins which although may not lower the ph significantly will make the alkalinity less harsh.
if you are using ro as a replacement having 100% ro with holtfreters is a consideration.
