His Tail Is all curled Up!!!!

Hello There Again...

my padded tail newt seems to have his tail curled right up and he doesn't normally do that! Is it natural or is he sick or hurt?

Ummm... For ages....

He uncurled it now.. but every so often he does it for ages and appears immoble

Is he by himself in the tank? It doesn't sound serious, but I have never observed such a thing.

If there are others in the aquarium it may be a display position dominance/courtship.

Q's:
When it curls does it wiggle?

Is this in or out of water?

How long is ages?

In the water, hours maybe.

and nope he is the only one. All on his lonesome

I have a fire belly that does that as well.
three females are doing fine and laying eggs for this tail curling individual.

I noticed that it gets more fear of the forcep. It used to eat from my forcep. But not when it get the first bite, it hide for a long time. So it getting thinner.
