Hi people,

I'm Alex I'm from the UK and I'm currently at university studying Biomedical Sciences. I'm blatantly new to the site...

I want to get myself some axolotls sometime in the very near future and am setting up the tanks and what-not at the moment. I initially just want one or two as pets with the outlook of maybe breeding them later on when I have a more stable living arrangement (aka my own home ).

Any advise and/or secret tips are more than welcome but I have done my homework so I'm not completely without an idea.

Don't hesitate to get in touch...I'm quite a social person and I don't bite...well not hard anyway

There are certainly a lot of Axolotl hobbyists on this site, which is what drew me here (recently) as well. I wish you luck, and hope to hear how everything goes once you get your Axolotls.

Not yet. Like you, I've just set up a tank that I hope will house Axolotls soon. I've been keeping herps since I could talk, and I've been serious about them since ~1994. Right now, my little menagerie consists of 2 leopard geckos, 2 big-eyed treefrogs, 2 parakeets, and a 20G long fishtank that includes African Dwarf Frogs. After setting up this Axolotl tank, I think I'll have maxed out the number of enclosures that my apartment can (comfortably) fit, so that will be all for a while.

I only found this site a day or two ago, and I can't pry my eyes away. I hope you're liking it as much as I.

Yeah this site is amazing...It's fantastic for getting the juicy bits of info you can only get from people who have done it themselves
