Just a curious question...how big is your Axolotl? Who owns the biggest?

Mine is about 6 inches long at the moment and growing fast!

Mike, my wild type, is just under 6" and has quite a large girth. ( :D ) I don't know how old he is though.

Kylie, my golden, is 4.5" and relatively slender. I have no idea how old she is either.

Gilbit and Blade are about 2.5" but they are only about 5 months old.

How old is Ron?

My adult male is nearly 12 inches! I'm not sure exactly, but I know it's near this. My female is about 10 inches, they're both about 18 months old.

I don't know exactly how old they are (should probably try to estimate for the sake of keeping track of their ages), but Saffron and Velvet are little, maybe 3, 3.5" long? Anyone know what would be an average age of an axolotl that size?

Olive is around 9 inches and she's about 9 months now.

Petrie is about 10 inches long and around 1 year old - in regards to girth, he has the body of an Adonis...but slimier and with a tail...:D

If Mike has a wide girth and Kylie has a slender one, it could be that a name swap is in order, in the future...:D

I have a feeling you are spot-on about their gender Zoe,, but I am adamant that the names will stay as they are. :p

I am amazed at the growth rate of axies, I thought Mike and Kylie were a couple of months old until I discovered my tiny babies are already around 5 months old. I'm guessing I can expect Gilbit and Blade to double in size over the next few weeks.

Missy is about 10-12 inches, maybe even a bit bigger. She's 2 years old, and extremely greedy :)

My largest axolotl is about 10 - 11 inchs long, and the other nine range from 6-9 or so inchs each.

They all have the rather annoying habit of waddling away as fast as their legs will carry them whenever I am in the mood to measure them .

My biggest one is my leucistic, Mrs. White i think!!
I'm pretty sure shes a girl, wide girth but not sexually mature yet, and shes amazingly 8" long!!
I think shes about 7 months old or so, pretty amazing rate of growth considering she eats the same amount as the other mexicans.

My other 2 wild types are older than her and sexually mature yet theyr only about 6.5"

Big girl :D

My adults are mini-axies. They're only about 7 inches. However their offspring are gigantic! They've had offspring reach 11+ inches in less than a year.

Do u think this would have anything to do with the adults being raised in a small tank from their very early days at the petstore??

Like the fact that they were confined in the pet store as opposed to your gigantic offspring being bred in somewhat more desirable conditions their whole lives.

28cm here shes about a year old i think:wacko:
:rofl:sophie

Blackie is 10 1/2 and Orangina 9 1/2 inches long. They are 3 year old siblings :)

I have 2 male/1 female golden axolotls each 12 inches long and 'curvacious' (2.5 years of age)... a female leucistic at 9 inches long and slim (2 years)... and a male dark wild type at 10 inches long and medium build (2 years).

And I currently have 30 x 3 month old wild types ranging from an inch to 4 inches all over the living room floor (in water, of course).
