I just bought a bufo debilis from General Exotics. i love my new toad but it seems really stressed out and even when your not near the tank it paces back and forth trying to find a way out like its scared. i have an american toad in the tank as well but they get along fine. any tips?

When I had toads they used to do this all the time. I solved it by covering the outside sides of the tank in a black cloth during the day(When it's bright outside). When night came, I took it off and they did not pace back and fourth again.

You should have really quarantined the new adquisition. Putting them together right away is not a good move at all.
The dark cloth around the tank is a very good suggestion. Keeping them in an area with little "human traffic" and disturbance will also help. Provide lots of hiding places and visual cover.
You shoud also think about separating them...nothing good can come from mixing, but problems might appear. It´s always best to avoid unnecessary risks.

Hmmm, I would place any amount of money on this that the Toad in question is a wild caught which was actually probably recently pulled in from the wild. I wish some places would actually quarantine and allow some specimens to acclimate to captivity before shipping.

I would do as mentioned and cut off its view of the free world for a bit of time. But, that other Toad is not helping its stress level any either so I would really recommend keeping them separated if not permanently for at least a few weeks.

yea i didnt remove the other toad bc i didnt feel as tho that was the problem but i did cover the tank and i took the cover off the other day and my toad is doing much better now
