Hi guys, I have 3 Axolotls each about 5-7 inches and they're fed earthworms daily.how long will it take approximately for them to get to full size.

My big male is almost 12 inches at 11 months. He hasn't been growing much in the last couple of months so I think (hope...) that's all his going to grow. I think I read it usually takes about a year to year and a half to reach their full size.

It depends on food quality, water quality, genetics and the individual itself . One of my axolotls was 1.5cm when I bought him and most of his siblings were that size. The biggest from the same clutch was 6cm.

I've read threads on this forum where some reached full size in 7 months or something. The ones I've raised from 1.5cm are quite big but I still think they have growing to do and they're 13months old now. Like keiko said, 12-18 months is when they start to mature sexually so around that age you would probably expect them to be pretty much full grown.

I got my Heyzeus about 4 weeks ago and he was 5 cm - he is now about 12 cm so 7 cm in 4 weeks for a little guy... seeming to grow pretty fast but I've heard their growth can slow down a little as they get closer to their max. size.

I swear that nutrition in the first few months is the key to axie growth - the better the nutrition the bigger the final size.
With good nutrition and care I normally reckon on about one inch per month for the first 6 months, then half inch a month to about 12-14 months.
But I agree with the others that genetics plays a big part too.
I have 9 month young adults at 6,7,8 and 9 inches.
