How keep a steady population of springtails in your tank

I have been doing research into adding springtails to my tank and i have been quite confused because nothing mentions anything about your springtails over breeding or under breeding in your tank and I was just wandering if anyone could help me find out about this and how it works.Any help would be very appreciated

Sorry if this is too late to help but I've been able to get a constant supply of springtails by culturing them seperatly. It can be a bit of a hassle to keep them in a separate container but as far as culturing live food goes, I have found them to be surprisingly easy to care for.

My setup is just a small tupperware container with a few holes poked in. I then filled it with charcoal chunks that I broke down into small pieces. And filled it half full with water. I then sprinkle yeast into the container every week or so and their population explodes with just that.

I am not positive on this but I believe they can eat the charcoal so that works as a substrate and as a food source if you miss a week. That may be the "secret ingredient" for me at least when it comes to keeping a steady supply of springtails.
