So I've already asked this question on Fb but would like more than 1 opinion I have a 26 inch square tank 11 water level with plenty of hiding places how many alpine newts could that house I've been told just 6 I'm waiting on more plants and only have a small land area but I can change that if they want to leave the water also have a resting ledge with a few ml of water underneath

Hi. Are those alpine newts in there already? Or, another species? I couldn't tell.

Is the tank a square shape that is 26 inches on each side? I can't tell from the description or pictures.

I would keep three of four in a 26-inch long tank. Newts need their space. I keep three in a 20 long aquarium, which is 30 inches long by 12.5 inches wide. Six newts in that tank would be way too much.

Good luck.

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
