So I went to an area and caught almost an dozen earthworms of different sizes. I have them in an container of moist eco earth and banana peels currently. I have read from the chopping earth article that you can keep on cutting an live worm until there is only 1 inch left of it’s head. How legit is that actually? Will the worms actually survive until there is only 1 inch left?
so here are my steps :
1: Taking an random earthworm out of the container
2: Chop a bit of it’s tail off
3: Put it back into the container
Repeat every day
Will this actually keep the worms alive? I am very curious.

That sounds like an interesting experiment. I don't think it will work. I just hold the worm over tanks I want to feed and chop pieces off with a scissors until the entire worm is used. Let us know how your experiment works out. Let us know if your worms eat those banana peels.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
