I am getting my first axolotl!!

So far I am setting up a 20 gallon tank with nothing on the bottom, live floating plants to moderate the water movement. I have two hiding places and am trying to find other plastic plants and decorations. I don't know what he/she is eating now but have asked. What am I missing? Should I be feeding salmon/axolotl pelletts? Forgot to say he/she is 3-5" .

I would appreciate any advice.

at 3-5 inches they should be okay to eat earthworms, just cut them into pieces the width of their head Smaller ones are often fed bloodworms or blackworms. Hope that helps!

Hello!

If you want to feed them with earthworms, do not buy those that are sold for fishing, because the potting soil in which they are put is toxic to the axolotls. Buy them in an animal shop (those who sell axolotls surely have).
