I have a 40 Breeder with 1 axolotl. The filter currently running on this tank is a Fluval 206 (flow rate of 206 GPH), and I bought a JBJ 1/15 HP chiller (which apparently is 160 GPH max flow rate). The ambient temperature in our house is usually anywhere between 69F and 73F.

First and foremost, did I get the wrong chiller? I haven't used it yet (but it's way too late to return it). Should I just sell it and buy something a little more powerful, or do you think it'll be fine with a bit of extra filter media in the canister filter, slowing down the flow rate a bit?

Second of all, I have NO idea how to marry the existing tubing for our 206 filter (which is hard and plastic) to the flexible clear plastic that will go with the chiller. I've looked up videos, but everyone seems to gloss right over this part. Does anyone have any pics of some of their frankenstein setups they'd be willing to share? I just for the life of me can't figure it out. I've sat down on the floor with this thing three times, brainstorming how to do this, before getting frustrated and walking away. Meanwhile our axolotl is at ideal temps thanks to a huge box fan that is sitting on top of his tank, but it's noisy and we have to turn it off and monitor the temp if we want to watch TV in the same room, which isn't fair to anyone. If anyone could please help me out with this, I'd be forever grateful!

Your best bet is to take a piece of the tubing to a hardware store and see if you can find something to connect them. Possibly a hose barb fitting with hose clamps.
