 This thread delivers!

Axolotls gulping down kangaroos in one go would be a sight to see

You need to watch more Living Planet, axolotls cant gulp down a whole roo, they pull them down in a pack and tear them apart.

I was pointing out that what americans think is true about kangaroos couldn't be further from the truth. they can be quite agressive.

But that has nothing to do with what he said at all and you quoted him :/ lol Sorry but I just don't understand the rambling on about how Macropus giganteus is dangerous and a hazard , when he said Endangered not Dangerous...

Endangered = (of flora or fauna) in imminent danger of extinction; "an endangered species".
Dangerous = Able or likely to cause harm or injury or in worst cases prove fatal.

Yes they are very DANGEROUS but thats not what he is saying lol However, The Eastern Grey Kangaroo is classed as Least Concerned by the IUCN but it's a very low status.

also, where in rachel's post did she say she feeds only kangaroo? she believes in feeding her animals on a varied diet, so don't ridicule her for that and don't jump to conclusions.

I didnt say anything about that :S Infact, my only comment i have made on this thread is about YOUR comment which didn't make sense... I'm not sure you actually read his comment to start with and jumped to your own conclusions

To any Mod that views this, I'm not having ago at him or anything or bullying lol I just don't understand what being Dangerous has to do with being Endangered lol

hey, just clearing some stuff up

I knew this would be controversial and i don't mind the responses, they were expected. I didn't recommend the diet, because i knew people would be against it, just letting people know what i have been doing and that they could try it if they wanted to.

Also I did say they were fat and healthy, and actually i just meant healthy. Their bodies are a little slimmer than the width of their heads which i think is an appropriate weight.

By actually posting this diet you are encouraging people to try it, you can see for yourself from some of the posts that people think it is a good idea. There is enough poor advice on the internet about axolotl care without it being in this forum, i hope the mods delete this thread as some people are bound to follow your inappropriate advice.

Rachel, i hope you can understand that if our commentaries are so direct is because there are good reasons to argue against the use of these kinds of unnatural food sources. It´s also because as i´ve said, this kind of thing has been discussed ad nauseum, and that´s the honest way to put it....it really is something that has been repeated to death...over and over and over....
You are of course free to do whatever you feel is appropriate (although i do hope you would take the criticisms into account because they are justified), but if you are going to promote something like this in these forums, you are going to find opposition. We have a bad habit of not leaving these kind of thing unchallenged.

I totally understand, i wouldn't have posted this if i hadn't been ready for the responses, i've been around here long enough to know what happens. Just letting people know how i do things like everyone else, and I’ll take your opinion into consideration.

well, sorry to have upset you

You haven't upset me Rachel, what you fail to realize is that many people who are new to axolotls will read this thread and think marsupial is part of a balanced diet. You really should know better, your posts are generally informative but to be honest i thought this was a joke thread when i first read it and was quite horrified when i realized it wasn't.
