So how does a hard-core chemistry Ph.D. in inorganic spectroscopy jump into biology? Advice, experiences?

I've got a year (or more). Meanwhile, I'll be scuba diving and getting my divemaster certification as a reward to myself.

Wow, Pin-pin, you come a long way since being made cover girl for Caudata.org! Congratulations!

With a science-related PhD and divemaster certification, I can see you getting into marine biology and maybe end up feeding the fishies at SeaWorld for a living, but I'd much prefer to see you get involved with the WakeLab at Berkeley and become the world's leading authority on Taricha

If you're looking to go into science (especially biology, at least with a Chem degree, you can go into drug research and stuff), remember what Einstein said...
