I had a salamander once that looked like these things.

But it was much, MUCH smaller, more pink, had beady black eyes and feathery red gills. It might've been an inch long, and it was freshwater. I thought it might've been one of these, until I learned they were native to Mexico.. I live in NC.
So, what could it have been? I thought someone here might know. I'm probably wrong though.
Sorry, I don't had a picture, since this was a long time ago when I was a wee lad back in the 90s.

im not to sure because iv only ever owned axolotls, frogs and fish. its probably some other type of salamander. how long did you have it for?.

You could have been mistaken and seen an albino larvae of some sorts, or it could have been just very light colored.

Almost all salamander larvae look like bitty axolotls when they're developing.
