I have a sand eater

I bet its a huge debate - - in my eyes, ithe 36 bow gives them both more floor room and the greater volume compared to 10 gallons means better temperature and parameter stability.

I'd love to be able to buy a larger/longer tank, but for right now it is not in my budget.

My axolotl is doing well - has been introduced to the female as of Sunday evening and yesterday evening, after only 3 days of being together, I found eggs in my tank!

All in all he had regurgitated about 2 and 1/2 teaspoons worth of sand! I count myself pretty lucky with this dopey boy!

I use big stones (35-40mm) as a substrate. Here are some pictures.;)

Thanks for the pictures. I think I am going to try finding some nice large rocks for the bottom to make it easier for them.

The little bugger still had/has sand in him! There was a pile of black sand in my bare bottom tank last night. Poor little guy! :(

The ones I use are lava stone, the kind people use in their garden :D

Thanks. We have a bunch of ledge in our backyard so I may try some of the rocks I find there if they have the right look and are smooth enough. If they pass the vinegar test I think I will try a rock base with the plants coming up from between the rocks and rock caves....
