I may need to find a new home for my newt Peter. Peter is a Taricha granulosa. He has been in my care for about 10 years. I am moving to Hawaii and still figuring out if I can take him with me.
My first question is: Can newts fly in an airplane? Would the pressure effect them negatively?
If I can't take them because of Hawaiian restrictions (there are many), I will have to find a good home for him. Peter has a penthouse. His tank is probably over 20 gallons with gravel bottom, pothos plants and drift wood.
My main concern is that he is going to a caring home, if I have to give him up. It may be nice for him to go to a home which already has newts. He has been alone since his buddy past away several years ago.
