Hello I'm new to this site so please forgive any stupid questions.
My axolotl was sick recently. I think she had a fungus infection- there was white filmy stuff coming from her mouth and couldn't eat properly but I fridged her and that has cleared up. She still can't eat properly but I'm hand feeding her and her weight is back up and she's swimming about again but now I think she might be bloated. Her belly has got really big in the last day or two and there is a red patch on her side.
Would fridging her again help that?
(PS I'm saying 'her' but I'm not actually sure what sex she is)

Are you able to post some photos? Bloating can potentially be a sign of something serious such as a bacterial infection or organ failure. Do you have access to a veterinarian? It is probably best to make an appointment.

Hi there. Unfortunately she died I think there was internal bleeding. She was absolutely fine yesterday but this morning the blotchy red thing was there, I think it was actually bruising, and she was dead within a couple of hours. I couldn't find a vet and I don't think it would have helped to be honest :(
thanks for your reply though

I am sorry to hear that she passed away. :(
