Hi there. So, I got a new axolotl, Fukiko. She is a jeuvie , about 3 inches in length. I got her two days ago. The tank was cycled properly and everything. At first, she was very spunky but I noticed this morning that she seemed quite lethargic. She is staying at the bottom, barely moving. Fukiko also has filmy bumps that just appeared everywhere. I changed 20% of the water and did some tests. Here is how they read:
-pH = 7.8 - 8.4
-Alkaline = 12 - 180
-Chlorine = 0
-Hardness = very hard, 300
-Nitrite = 0
-Nitrate = 0- 20

She has been eating okay. I fed her some earthworm and pellets.
I would take pictures but she is kind of hiding.

Responses will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

What sort of test are you using?
Liquid or strips?

What is the result for Ammonia test
(Very important to be testing)

What are you feeding & how often.

Without hesitating I would remove the axie from the tank & get it into a tuppaware container with fresh dechlorinated water (aged if possible)
& change this water at least 100% daily - twice daily if really badly irritated.
Wash this tub out well every second day to remove the biofilm.

It's not worth leaving your axie in the tank until you know it's safe - get it out & give it some detox time in fresh water.

I have been using strips to test. I gave it a salt bath and a new container is being aged at the moment. I do have two axies in the tank. And a tank divider. The other one is just fine. I just don't understand. And now, Fukiko developed weird film over her eyes.
