Hello I am currently in the process of setting up my axolotls final habitat as I have 3 and they were jeuvies in a 33 but before they show any signs of sexual maturity i would like to have them in a 55.
Anyway my idea for filtration was to use lighting diffuser that has been raised about an inch above the bottom of the tank with a canister filter return flow on one side and outtake on the other side of the tank.I would then pretty much carpet the lighting difuser with anubias and have some long wide driftwood acting as hides and party places. .
so my questions are
Will a decent carpet of anubias be a decent 'ground' for the axolotls to walk on. or will it stess them out
and
is this going to work as a semi maintenance reducing option for the tank or am i going to be doing the same amount of pooper scooping as i am doing in my bare bottom.
and
is there anything I am missing? i hope the current will be stongly diffused by the anubias and act as a vaccum to pull the poo particles through the plants and out into the cannister.
