i went to see my friend that lives in the san jacinto mtns and it was raining so we went out that night to look for salamanders and saw 1monterey ensatina 2 large blotched ensatinas and 1 arboreal it was so cool i never new that there was salamanders there.they all came from a bunch of tunnels in some pine tree roots sticking out of a hill.

That is a good area, especially if you like pale klaubs. I have found night walking in the SoCal mountains and Sierras very good during rains, especially after a long dry period. Did you get any pics?
