Not sure what happened, but I am keeping my axolotls in a tub atm while the main tank cycles.. I have noticed the end of my axolotls tail is bent, and is now forming this weird white gunk? I think she must have got her tail caught somewhere or the other axolotl bit it? Could it be infected? She is keeping her tail raised up does that mean she is in pain? No idea what to do :(

What are the temps of your tubs? I had mine in a tub for water change and it warmed up quickly- it could be fungal- especially if there is a nick or nip in the skin to begin with

The temperate in the tub is at 18 atm, what should I do to treat it? It's getting worse day by day

Salt baths are generally the way to go with fungus which is what that stuff looks like.

Have a look at the top of this forum, there is a sticky by Kaysie outlining how to do salt baths.

I would also up their feeding, they look a bit skinny (not criticising just observing) and are going to need a few extra calories for the healing a rejuvenating process.

Okay I shall do that thanks :) and the black axolotl has always been thin, I am in the process of fattening her up, I got her for free from a aquarium because she is underweight and ill so I am doing my best to bring her back to health.
