Hi everyone, thanks for the add. I’m so glad —and relieved— to have found this group! A few weeks ago, I found three spotted salamander egg masses in a totally dried up pool (more like a puddle). I picked them up and put them in Tupperware container. My intent is to raise them until they are able to survive out of water, then release them back to where I found them. They are hatching now. andThe oldest ones are about 5 days old and the latest ones just emerged today.
Some gave me some brine shrimp eggs and incubator. Fed the older ones baby brine shrimp (washed) yesterday. But I think I’d prefer to feed them freshwater daphnia if that’s easier.
I have a million questions about feeding and housing them.
Are there files on this site that have basic info about caring for larvae?
Thanks!

Hello,
How exciting is watching them grow and develop? Sorry for the late response. I hope the sals are doing well and yes daphnia can be a little easier. It definitely was with my two lined salamanders. I am far from an expert but have some experience and my passion for them only grows each day. Good luck spots mom!
