Introduce Your Pets

I'm pretty sure that everyone here is very fond of animals and I was just wondering if you'd like to introduce your pets? And what animals you're interested in one day owning.

I have 2 dogs. One is a Cocker Spaniel named Bubbles. She's named that because she has a bubbley personality and because her paws are really furry, she looks like a Powerpuff Girl because the fur makes it look all round. The other is a Papillon named pillow. There's no real reason for his name, I just thought it was cute. And contrary to popular belief, he is a boy. I also have a Turkish Angora kitten named Daisy. We called her Daisy because we call Bubbles Princess Bubblegum sometimes and her colour is pink. I thought Daisy should be a princess too, so I named her after Princess Daisy from Super Mario since she has yellow eyes and Princess Daisy's colour is yellow. All of them were rescues.

I also have my three axolotls, the two leuctistcs named Ziggy and Stardust and the melanoid named Spider, after a David Bowie tour "Ziggy Stardust and the Spider's from Mars". We have one other tank, which had a female red betta with gorgeous fins. She actually looked like a male. She was the only one we kept from our move since we had her for so long and she was so pretty. Her name was Chikorita, but she died recently and that tank is empty. We're going to convert it to a salt water tank and get a larger freshwater tank eventually. The picture is of Ziggy with the 6 toes on the back right foot.

I'm interested in exotics and was wanting either a fox or a skunk, but neither are legal in my state. I decided to just stick with a rare/exotic dog breed, since my boyfriend doesn't like Chinese Crested hairless, we're looking for an Alaskan Klee Kai.

Where do I begin?! I have a green iguana, Marley, whom I love very much. He is named so because he relaxes and enjoys himself when I play Bob Marley. I have a breeding pair of Axolotls (albino and leucistic) and two wildtypes. An unnamed ball python I could never decide a name for. I will soon be getting a Savannah Monitor.

Well I have had everything well most everything at one time of another. Currently I have 4 cats the first is Tatter (tatter salad Ron White haha) hes a buff tiger and a really big boy 24 lbs. Next cat Bella she around 20 lbs. she's calico. Then Milley another calico but soft as a feather. Last but not least Brutis he is a brut from birth brown/gray tiger in color. Then we have 5 hermit crabs. Then my boy Zilla (african plated lizard). The newest addition Jaba the Hut (african bullfrog aka. pixie frog). Soon I will be starting my collection of axolotl's and I want to know everything there is to know about them so if anyone can just message me with the things that I need to know or just things you want to tell me I heard about a rare copper color and if anyone has a pic of that i would love to see it.

Oh boy. Let's start with mammals.
-2 dogs, a rescued Pit Bull named Gimli and a long haired miniature Dachshund named Gromit. Gromit is blind, has significant brain damage and weighs in at only 7 pounds, so Gimli is his caretaker and protector. He leads him around obstacles and brings him food when he can't find the bowl. Gimli also saved my life earlier this year when we interrupted four men breaking into our neighbor's home. After they came at me, he chased them for two blocks before I called him off. He never bit any of them, just kept them far enough away for me to call the police.
- A Gypsy Vanner mare named Grace, whom I've raised from a yearling.

Reptile-wise, I keep
-3 leopard geckos named Cal, Stumpy and Adidas, all rescues.
-A female tokay gecko named Thundercat.
-A female crested gecko named Flo.
-A rescued female African Fat Tailed gecko named Rosie.
-2 Kenyan Sand Boas, a female snow named Pixel and an anerythristic male named Roger.
-2 rescued corn snakes, a normal named Dwight and a snow named Buster.
-2 male Ball Pythons, both rescued normals named Ricky Bobby and Stryker.
-A rescued female San Felipe Rosy Boa named Shark.
-A male lipstick albino Colombian Redtail Boa named Pablo Picasssssssssso

Amphibians
-An albino American Bullfrog named Barnabus, who is the bane of my existence.
-A male/female pair of Easter Tiger Salamanders that I rescued from a friend's pool filter.
-A marbled salamander named Trouble.
-4 Blue Spotted salamanders.
-3 Long Toed salamanders who are all named Jerry because I can't tell them apart.
-14 axolotls, 3 goldens, 2 melanoid albinos, 4 leucistics, 3 melanoids, and 2 wildtypes.

Arachnids
-1 5" female G. pulchripes named Brittany
-1 1" unsexed A. versicolor named Chloe
-I have a B. smithi, a G. rosea, a P. regalis, an H. mac and a P. murinus that I still need to pick up from my guy.

I also keep a ton of fish, but they don't have names.

I love this: "A marbled salamander named Trouble." We have five of these and they are definitely trouble - especially if you're trying to locate them in the vivarium. Hide and seek champions! Amphibian-wise we also have a bunch of C. pyrrhogaster and T. marmoratus.

Our other pets are three horsfield's tortoises, Tortellini, Linguini and Risoni. You can see that one day, evolution was at a crossroads with tho paths - durability and intelligence, and it decided to head in the former.... but they are the most lovable creatures.

In the future, I'd like to have a pig, an ardvaark and a couple of penguins. Realistically, we might get a lizard one day, probably a bearded dragon.

Milo - A 7 year old Pomeranian
Crystal - A 14 year old Maltese Terrier/Poodle/Shih Tzu/Pomeranian
Athena - A 2 1/2 year old rat (Her mum and two sisters have since passed away)
Tequila - My copper/tan albino axolotl (whatever colour you want to call it)

I think my mum would kill me if I got any more pets :grin:

One Lhasa Apso/Poodle Cross: Dani Lyn, aka the Princess.
One Flame Pt Manx: Cassie.
Two Testudo Hermanni Buettgeri: Ari and Ona
Five Bombina Orientalis: Too many to name.
One: Ambystoma Mexicanus: Pip. (In transit)

I just purchased a 125 gal tank that I plan on dividing into smaller units, so the possibilities are endless. Although I would like to add Litoria Caerulea and some other types of Tree Frogs or Toads to the family.

bkime - Your cats are all so big! Little Daisy is only around 6 or 7 pounds. We went to Petsmart the other day and the cats they had for adoption were bigger than Bubbles. I never realized Daisy was small.

Hayden - Gimli and Gromit are cute. Where do you keep all your tanks?

evut - I wanted a pig too! But my boyfriend thinks they're ugly. :/ They're not, they're so cute. I know someone that has an anteater, Dali had one as a pet too. Must be easier to care for or something since they're slightly more common than aardvark.

AngieD - Do you keep a few in one tank? I dunno, I just find it fascinating when people have a lot of reptiles and how they keep them because I've had all pets under the sun except reptiles. Is the bunny friends with them or food?

All my friends think she's ugly hahahaha. Her hair is so hard to explain, it grows about an inch long and knots easily plus her face gets dirty from tears and food lol. Everyone prefers the pomeranian

Aww, she's soooo cute!! I grew up with Poms so I'm more partial to floppy ears now, the only perky ears I like are Papillon ears because they're so big and pretty. (Pillow is working on it.) I was just curious about her hair because Poodles, Maltese/Shih Tzu and Poms all have very different kinds of hair. I think she looks like a Shih Tzu most of all though.

Imzunicorn - I only keep animals of the same species in tanks together. The animals are in pairs, trios or group with a few exceptions:

The house snakes are separated while they are young, as the female is too young to survive breeding.
Teddy is kept separate from the chinese fire-bellied newts, as he is in his terrestrial phase (and very small)
The baby ocellated skinks are kept separately from the adults, so they don't get eaten.

The rabbit is a pet, not food. He was the first animal we got.

We have a separate room for all the pets (except Sparky, he has an outdoor hutch).

mshine1217 - Why is he named AskHim? And my parents have Poodle/Lhasa Apso too! They're brothers and the hair colour is exactly the same, but one looks like a Lhasa and one looks like a Poodle.

It's a family joke. My sister-in-law owns his parents, when the got his dad and we asked them what his name was they would say "Ask Him". That's actually what they named him. When we got the puppy, he reminded us so much like his dad that we were accidently calling him AskHim, so we decided to call him Askhim Jr., aka AJ.

Dani Lyn doesn't look like any of the puppies in her litter. Her mom is 1/2 lhasa/1/2 poodle and her dad is full lhasa. (picture attached)

Besides salamanders and newts we've got frogs and toads (M.klappenbachie, G.riobambae, S.couchii, C.cranwelli, B.orientalis, R.humboldti and P.hosii), three cats, three rabbits and a tortoise (T.hermanni boetgeri).

To be quite honest I must say that the cats belong to my gf. Don't like the fact that they're "hairing" up the place. Don't like fur, except when it's outside my home. Oh well...

i have a painted turtle named princess squirtle the turtle, and a eastern tiger salamander speckles. I want to get another tiger salamander, fire salamander or fire belly newts haven't decided yet. i want to get a milk snake but my girlfriend hates snakes so i've been working on it.
