floating tiger larvae! help please

i have what i believe is a tiger salamander lavae about seven inches long and for the past 24 hours he has been having a hard time trying to keep himself from floating.sometimes it seem to enjoy it but for the most part he seems to be fighting to sink to the bottom.i heard floating was stressful and im getting concearned.any info would be healpful thanks.

is floating normal in tiger salamanders?

Are you refering to larva or adults? If it's the latter then they shouldn't be in an aquatic setup. If it's larva your refering to, then generally speaking, floating is abnormal and a sign of another problem.

it hasnt morphed yet its about 7 inches long and having a hard time sinking down to the bottom of the tank or at least it seems that way.

it was shipped from a dealer in northern texas.they said they deal only with experianced breeders but im not sure if thats true or not.other then the floating he seems to look healthy.

Tiger salamanders aren't bred in captivity. All commercially available tiger salamanders are wild-caught. Unfortunately, just because someone says they're c.b. doesn't make it so.

Is the entire salamander floating, or just the rear? Does it get to the bottom? or does it float constantly?

What are you feeding?
