We have a clutch of 3 month old axolotls, about 90 left currently. Most are in individual containers and then we have 2 bins with about 14 each in them. A few of them have had gills like this for a long time and we didn't know what it was. In the last 2 weeks more of them developed it and some have it on their bodies now. We do water changes twice a day when feeding, use water conditioner, try to keep the water cool, etc. We started salt baths once a day and did that for a couple days. Some seemed to get better but then others seemed to get worse or just act or look funny. It's a ton of work as you can imagine so we stopped. It doesn't look like most of the pictures or descriptions we read about fungus so we want to know if we're even treating the right thing. And how they got it. We aren't breeders but this is the second clutch we've raised. Yes, our 2 are now separated so no more babies!
