Hi,

I was wondering if it's ok to house two yellow spotted salamanders together. One's definitely smaller than the other, but not by that much.

Thanks

It should be fine as long as the smaller one is at least over half the size of the larger one. give them plenty of food and hides to reduce aggression if there is any.

Ambystoma maculatum are fine housed together. I use a soil and leaf litter base tub with hides, stacked broken flower pots and slate. There is a token pile of moss, but this dies for me ...the macs like to lurk under it :) I feed mainly earthworm and they seem to also enjoy woodlice and occasional garden grubs. I do also provide a water bowl.
Can you add some photo's of them so I can admire them ;)

Thanks. The smaller one is more than half the size of the other, so I'll try.

I'll see about the pictures. I don't have any really good ones.

I put them together two days ago, and so far, everything is fine. They seem quite content to share the bigger of the two hides, sometimes even side by side.

Yeah, that species doesn't really get aggressive.
