I have recently bought some axolotl eggs from a local pet store. I was shocked. First when i saw the pair that laid the eggs i was baffled. The adults were only about 7-8". There was one gold and one leucistic. The Gold was the female. The eggs also shocked me. There were some gold in the eggs, some leucistic, and some brown ones. Is it possible for a single color to lay all those colors? I got two gold and two brown. I cant wait for my babies to hatch. I'll update often.

Yes, it's possible, if the offspring has those colors in its bloodline.

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
