Is my axolotl dying?!?

I just got my axolotl (ace) yesterday and just wanted to make sure everthing is going on as he hasn’t moved Much I fed him this morning which he seemed to enjoy but again has not moved a lot my water parameters are nitrate - 5ppm/nitrite - 0/ammonia - 0/temp - 16.5
I really hope everthing is ok with him

Everything sounds fine, since you only got him yesterday he is probably adjusting to the new environment and resting from the travel. Post some pics if you would like but it doesn't sound like anything is wrong to me.

Axolotls aren't exactly the most energetic animals. When they're younger they're more active but they settle down as adults.
If your new friend is eating then that's a great sign, as some refuse food when they arrive in a new home. I know how it feels to be super worried, I think I had to have woken up five times that first night and checked on them with a flashlight. And I tested the water every day for two weeks to make sure everything was absolutely fine.
Give them a few days to settle in. I have two juveniles and my wild type hardly moves all day, he just chills in the same area of the tank near the filter and waits for food. My melanistic is a bit more active but also usually hangs out in one place. They both move more at night.
