Got if from a guy saying its captive bred and around 8 months old.

I would say its a young female.
And if its already aquatic it should ideally be in a planted fully aquatic tank with a small floating land mass

Its in a temporary recovery tank, because my permanent tank has a mature male chinese firebelly and I wanted to make sure this was the same species for sure before mixing them together. I was looking for a female but again being its not fully mature wasn't sure on gender.
