Hey all, I just noticed a white spot on the tip of one of the gills on my Axo, I doubt this is heat stress related by my tank is at about 69 degrees constantly can anyone help me out here? http://i.imgur.com/uug1m.jpg

It's hard to tell from the picture but fungus is so easy to recognize. It doesn't look "cotton wooly" so I'd have to agree with Olivia - most likely just a lack of pigmentation.

thanks for the quick replies, I will post more Higher res photos tonight the little guy has been growing fast I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

Hey all, I got a frontal shot let me know what you all think!

They look absolutely fine to me, he seems to be quite pale genuinely but a cutey! Have you noticed the color of his gills fluctuating? This happens because of blood flow. If he's being active you'll most likely find his gills will become more vibrant, then dull when he's "chilling out"! For example I have an adult leucistic male; when he's feeling energetic his gills turn the most stunning deep red, when he's being lazy they go a dull pink! It's really nothing to worry about and he looks great!
