Re: Is this a fungas?

Definitely looks like fungus. I'd suggest fridging him and keeping the salt baths going until 2-3 days after the fungus disappears. Also test your water, or take it to the pet store to get Tested to see if there is a problem with the water (I know PetStock does free water testing)

Re: Is this a fungas?

What is your setup like? Water parameters? Substrate? Temperature? What do you feed? Any additional information would be helpful.

Re: Is this a fungas?

6 ft aquarium, sand substrate, i feed worms mostly as well as some frozen bloodworm and a little frozen heart when i run outta worms. Temp is around 22 ish, i got water tested - nitrate is 5.0, ammonia is 025 an ph is 8.2, so ill have to buy ph down stuff, has a buddy in the tank who seems fine

Re: Is this a fungas?

Do you have any plants or planting substrates? Your ammonia is fairly high for a cycled tank.

Re: Is this a fungas?

just one plant in a pot that i brought in from an outdoor pond

Re: Is this a fungas?

This might be contributing to the high pH. Do you use a filter?

Re: Is this a fungas?

Did you cycle the tank? Sorry for the questions, just trying to see whats going on in your tank! :D, how long has your axie been looking fungus ridden?

Re: Is this a fungas?

i did a 30% ish water change a few days ago....axie got sick a day or two after that...its been really bad today and i first noticed it yesterday i think or the day before

hi, i have been fridging my axie for the past few days with twice a day salt baths, but it looks like more of his body is covered now...should i go to the pet shop and buy fungus killer stuff?

Would you be able to post a photo, many fungus medications aren't suitable for axolotls

ill go to the pet shop tomorrow and tell you what they have..is there anything else i can do? it looks like it has spread over more of his little body. should i up the salt content?

Heres some safe ones:
Myxazin (Waterlife- ½ dosage)
The Complete Remedy
Mercurochrome
Nitrofura-G (Aquatronics)
Maracyn (Mardel Labs)
Sulfa-bath (Tetra)
Methylene Blue (low doses)
Furan-2 (Aquarium Pharmaceuticals)
Melafix (Aquarium Pharmaceuticals)
Panacur

What strength are you currently using and for how long? It's got me baffled what's caused this.

I really cannot understand why it's not clearing it up, try a higher concentration. what salt are you using? Anything with iodine isn't appropriate

Non iodized table salt, should I try another spoonful?

A friend has some methylene blue...how much should I use?

i think its something like 1 drop per 7 litres for fish but double the water (14 L) to half the dose
