Hello every one, happy holiday season!

I will try to keep this brief. My axolotl is about 5 inches or so now, I have had them since July! Usually I feed frozen bloodworms, but have been trying to incorporate earthworms now. I have been cutting them up about the width of the lotl's head and soaking in water for a bit. At first my axolotl loved them! After a couple of feedings now, they get spit out after being chewed for awhile. I only can get them to eat the worm if I mix it in with some frozen bloodworms in the food dish. No signs of stress, water parameters are great, and still loves the bloodworms. Are they just being fussy?

Anyone had an experience where their axolotl just turned their nose up at food they used to like? Or just being picky eaters in general?

Cheers

I have two and they aren't picky at all, but one is a bit finnicky when it's cold outside, she would grab the worm but let it go immediately, so every winter I put her in another tank and move her to a warmer place in the house, you could try that if you're able to.
It could have something to do with te species of worm you are using, I used to feed them dendrobenas but moved on to european nightcrawlers, but they like the dendro's the best.
I hope this helps you, merry christmas by the way
